Aldo

Co-Founder & CEO

Born and raised in Varese, graduated in Computer Science from Università degli Studi dell'Insubria. A child of the '80s, he wrote his first lines of code on a Commodore 64 before even learning his multiplication tables. Organized, methodical and with an obsession for systems that "just work", Aldo is the administrative and strategic pillar of StreamStack.

From managing bare-metal servers to negotiating with carriers, from GDPR compliance to enterprise client relationships: if there's a process to optimize or an SLA to guarantee, Aldo is the right person. His philosophy? "A well-designed infrastructure is one that doesn't make the news — because it always works."

Christian "Malefix"

Co-Founder & CTO

Forged at Politecnico di Milano, Christian brings with him the German-style engineering precision and the creativity of someone who grew up disassembling every electronic device he could get his hands on. He earned the nickname "Malefix" in the '80s among BBS networks and the demo scene, and it has stuck ever since.

An old-school systems architect: he knows every bit that crosses the network, every syscall the kernel executes, every frame that FFmpeg processes. He designs infrastructure thinking in microseconds and reasoning in failure modes. When he's not optimizing transcoding pipelines or calibrating rate limiting, he's probably reading an RFC or writing Go code at midnight.

Our story

We met in 2003, in the days when Internet meant a 56k modem and a Linux server in the basement was already a data center. From the start, we shared the same vision: technology must serve the people who use it, not the other way around.

After years of experience in hosting, telecommunications and digital media companies, in 2017 we founded StreamStack with one clear goal: to offer Italian and European businesses an enterprise-grade video streaming infrastructure without the complexity and costs of the big American platforms.

Every component of StreamStack — from transcoding to the player, from CDN to analytics — has been designed, developed and optimized in-house. We don't resell other people's services: we build our own. And we do it with the artisan care of those who know that behind every stream there's a business that depends on our reliability.
